Western-Country Music - Adore It Or Dislike It, You Most Likely Have An Estimation! Everybody has their opinions. We start forming likes & dislikes from an acutely early age. Some of our evaluations are formed based upon our own experiences & others we form based on what we hear from the people around us. Children readily pick up what the grown-ups around them are saying. This is why most family members belong to the exact same political party and practice the same religion; it's what they grew up with. A whole lot of what we value comes from what we were exposed to as kids. On occasion we find that we change our opinion on some-thing once we have experienced it for ourselves because the opinion was based upon what we were taught rather than from personal experience. In the family I spent my childhood in my dad liked to have things quiet. He worked very hard at his job & running a piece of farmland so when he sat down for the evening he didn't like a good deal of noise or activity going on around him. We could have the tv on low or he would put on albums of classical music. It was the only music he would listen in to. If we had the radio on & country western music, even country wedding songs, or rock & roll would come on he would say to us to turn it off. He didn't understand rock and roll and he thought country western music was hokey, even the love ballads & country wedding songs. I was exposed to rock & roll through my friends, radio and dances & like it. I didn't listen to western-country music at all. I held my father's opinion of it. Then I started a dating a youthful man in college that listened to country western music at all times. He liked the beat of the music & the stories that the majority of of the songs told. I really liked him so when we began dating I put up with the music & tuned it out. We then went to a large out-of-doors concert that featured several of the hottest country western bands. From that point on I was hooked. I found that I also liked the stories the songs told & the music was entertaining to dance to. At the out-of-doors music show event I met numerous of my boyfriend's friends. They taught me how to line dance to some of the songs. I slow danced to some ballads and country wedding songs. After college I moved to another city & so I lost touch with my boyfriend. In the end I married my present husband & we are raising our family. I still listen to all versions of music, but every time I hear country western music I think back to that music show & how I came to appreciate it.
